General Expectations
- As an Engineering Intern, you will be part of a team that proactively supports customer projects from a technical perspective. congatec’s Engineering Interns supporting Field Application Engineers have a good knowledge of x86 and ARM system platforms, as well as a high level of enthusiasm for creating the best possible customer experience.
Job Accountabilities
- Serves in an intern position as a technical resource for technical support activities such as preparation of prototypes and other technical related support items.
- Troubleshoots, analyzes and recommends application solutions.
- May work on multiple, simultaneous projects.
- Participates in in-house and external training and learning activities as directed by the department lead.
- Keeps department lead and Sales Manager informed of project status and elevates situations requiring decisions, changes, or management support.
- Has knowledge in computer I/O architectures and implementations.
- Knowledge of computer hardware design practices, schematic entry tools, Gerber viewer, signal integrity and debugging practices are beneficial.
- Basic knowledge of industry standards and practices (e.g., UL, EN IPC, etc.) that apply to electronic design and testing are a plus.
- Basic knowledge of modern and legacy Operating Systems such as Linux, Windows, DOS and UEFI shell is required as well as experience with installation, debugging and configuration.
Job Qualifications
- Education: Student of BS or MS degree (engineering, computer science, physics, or math)

Work Environment
- Corporate office in Sorrento Mesa San Diego.
Salary Range
- $20-$25 per hour
- 20-24 hours per week
