Supplier Quality Engineer / Penang, Malaysia

Your tasks

• Perform regular and ad-hoc supplier audits and manage the follow-up and verification of audit measures
• Support and drive improvement programs in case of supplier escalation issues
• Participate in regular supplier quality meetings and business review meetings
• Act as an active member of the congatec internal audit team
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (R&D, Operations departments, Purchasing, Quality, etc.) and suppliers to ensure robust and stable manufacturing and quality processes
• Support congatec projects in implementing customer project requirements (APQP, PPAP) and preparing test coverage reports
• Review and approve electronic manufacturer control plans, process flows and Process FMEAs together with internal stakeholders
• Support onboarding projects of new electronic manufacturing suppliers, ensuring robust qualification and seamless integration into existing quality systems

Your profile

• Degree in engineering (e.g. Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering) or comparable technical qualification
• Several years of experience in electronics manufacturing (SMT/PCBA) or electronic manufacturing environment
• Solid understanding of key electronics standards, e.g. IPC-A-610, IPC-A-600, IPC-J-STD-001
• Good understanding of key mechanical manufacturing topics such as: Surface treatment and cleaning, Verification of inspection processes, Dimensional deviations and surface issues, Impact of thermal performance on product quality
• Strong expertise in 8D methodology, FMEA and process control for electronic and mechanical processes
• Completed auditor training and qualification (minimum requirement ISO9001)
• Proven experience in auditing suppliers according to VDA 6.3
• Strong process-oriented mindset and profound knowledge of ISO 9001
• Structured, analytical and solution-oriented way of working with strong communication skills in an international environment
• Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage
