Field Application Engineer (FAE) / Tokyo, Japan

As a Field Applications Engineer, you will be part of a team that proactively supports customer projects from a technical perspective. congatec’s Field Application Engineers have a strong knowledge of x86 and ARM system platforms, as well as a high level of enthusiasm for creating the best possible customer experience. 

Tasks:

• Serve as a key technical resource for Sales support activities such as face-to-face sales meetings, demonstrations, preparation of prototypes and other technical related support items.
• Provide technical support to customers throughout the entire product design-in and lifecycle process for congatec software products and ensure high customer satisfaction through efficient and reliable technical support
• Analyze customer problems, develop solutions in collaboration with R&D hard/software and manage communication between customers and 3rd level software support
• Work closely with internal departments to develop and implement customer-specific solutions
• Conduct customer visits (workshops, enablement, support) when required for customer relations and sales support
• Prepare and conduct product workshops and trainings for customers, partners and employees
• Provide technical support at trade shows and customer-related events  

Job Qualifications:

• BS degree (engineering, computer science, physics, or math) or MS degree (engineering, computer science, physics, or math)
• 5+ years’ experience of field support in embedded computing or similar industry.
• Knowledge and proficiency in computer I/O architectures and implementations as well as knowledge of computer hardware design practices, schematic entry tools, Gerber viewer, signal integrity and debugging practices.
• Knowledge of industry standards and practices (e.g., UL, EN IPC, etc.) that apply to electronic design and testing.
• Proficiency with modern and legacy Operating Systems such as Linux and Windows, DOS and UEFI shell as well as experience with installation, debugging and configuration.
• Ability to present oneself as well as the company in a professional manner
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to take initiative, to work effectively in both individual and team environments and to manage multiple customer projects simultaneously.
