Your responsibilities:
As a Material Compliance Specialist, you will ensure that all materials, components, and products meet applicable legal, regulatory, and customer‑specific requirements. You will work at the interface of Purchasing, Development, Quality, Production, and Supplier Management, helping to minimise risks throughout the supply chain and to guarantee sustainable, legally compliant products.
Your tasks:
- Monitor and implement statutory requirements related to material compliance (e.g., REACH, RoHS, SCIP, POPs, TSCA, Conflict Minerals)
- Evaluate and approve materials, components, and supplier data for regulatory conformity
- Maintain and manage material‑ and compliance‑related databases and certificates
- Communicate with suppliers to obtain and verify relevant declarations and supporting documents
- Support and coordinate product‑compliance matters such as CE and UL certifications
- Respond to customer inquiries and assist with audits
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and standards for product and material compliance
- Track regulatory changes and derive necessary actions for the company
Your profile:
- Completed university degree in Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Materials Science, Engineering or a comparable qualification
- First professional experience in material compliance, product stewardship, regulatory affairs, or quality management is advantageous
- Good knowledge of relevant regulations such as REACH, RoHS, SCIP, or Conflict Minerals
- Analytical, structured way of working with a high level of attention to detail
- Proficient with MS Office; experience with compliance or ERP systems is a plus
- Strong communication skills for interacting with internal stakeholders and international suppliers
- Good command of German and English, both spoken and written
- Initiative, team‑spirit, and a strong sense of responsibility
